Wellington shut out a favored Guadalajara side and Ushuaia stole a road win from Havana's favorites in a back-and-forth third period, the two real upsets of an otherwise chalky Matchday 42. Winnipeg and Busan delivered the day's most lopsided results, 8-1 and 6-0.

This Week in Hockay: July 26th

Le Council named the two forms of ice it had been refusing to name, and in naming them divided the league in half—La Conférence du Verglas and La Conférence du Givre. The sort came out twenty-four and twenty-three, and the missing arena turned up three thousand meters beneath the North Atlantic. Five matchdays remain, one playoff berth is being contested by roughly half the league, and at The Pyramid Basin, Cairo and McMurdo combined for eighteen goals.

Six upsets defined Matchday 40, headlined by Natasha Borova's overtime winner that sank Montréal at The Oldest Rink and a mysterious echoed goal that gave Nairobi an extra tally in a 7-1 rout of Gander. Busan and Anchorage combined for eight fights in a chaotic night at The Frozen Dock, while Johannesburg, Helsinki, Stockholm, Ushuaia, Winnipeg, and Mumbai all pulled off wins as underdogs.
