Potential Rivalries
The petition up right now about rivalries has me wondering which teams are most likely to be rivals. Do y'all have any opinions? I feel like the Monoliths and the Sirens have a friendly rivalry going on right now vis a vis attendance at and shavings consecrated to The Church of the Ice.

as a howlers fan, i'm holding a bit of a grudge against the geese after the last game of last season; if they hadn't beaten us, we would have punched our ticket to the playoffs angry face

love this thread - so many different categories of rivalry
• some location based (e.g. i imagine maybe the canadian teamsight be rivals, or the aus/nz teams - pyres + whales cause those countries have some sporting beef)
• some competiton based (feel like anchorage knocking winnipeg out of playoff spots on the last day of season 1 was big? or just maybe if a team keeps knocking another team out in the playoffs?)
• some off the ice competition, like the consecration thing you said, so cool!

I have a hunch that Montréal doesn't like Tokyo very much after that defeat in the first Final—and likewise, Tokyo doesn't like Medellin that much after losing in the second Final.
Could be fun to see someone pull the numbers and look at patterns of victories/defeats

Due to one particularly upsetting loss, the Amsterdam Aardvarks have declared a rivalry with the Oslo Owls. They have also declared rivalry with McMurdo Station, mostly because it seemed right.

Could a team declare The Ice itself as a rival? Or even Le Council?
