Gaming the redistribution system - citizen concern
I was the second richest player, once. But even the wealth gap between me and the millionaire fan was unfathomably large. How do we ensure that redistribution will be applied fairly, that the wealthy will not simply gamble themselves to the bottom of the list and avoid fair taxation? Is there a large enough BBQ restaurant that takes group bookings for when we inevitably eat them? We have much to discuss.

Maybe it needs to be a withholdhing tax on the bets payouts so that it's inescapable? Cause only 3 things are inescapable: Death, The Ice, and Taxes?

Does this disadvantage people who get lucky windfalls though? Should everyone outside the top ten(?) get their tax returned to them for not making the most in payouts at the end of each day - or week? - PLUS tax withheld from those at the top?
Also, do I get a badge for making the first ever forum post in the history of Hockay? Come on.

It may be that the wealth tax turns into an inattention tax. When the wealthy slip up and don't make their bets in time, there it goes.
I'd honestly be okay with that.

After making it to #6 on the "most taxed" leaderboard, I can conclusively say this is a poor match with my betting style. I like to wait for all the games to conclude so I can see how much money I have to bet and invest for tomorrow.
And you know what? I'm still okay with that. I could hide my looneys, but they're still going to someone, and I have enough. Enjoy, everyone.
(I do, in fact, buy from the exchange, which probably counts as hiding my looneys. I could hide them more, though.)

I have lost much motivation to bet ever since the wealth tax, because 1) even if I do nothing, I will gain money redistributed from the wealthy (in fact, I once made it onto the wealth leaderboard just from the redistributed money, despite not having made any bets for a couple of weeks); 2) if I do make more money from betting, I'll just end up getting taxed anyway unless I quickly invest the money in stocks/shavings/future bets.
Wealth tax is unfair to those fans who placed well-informed, bold bets to get to where they are now.
Since there seem to be some differing opinions regarding alternative solutions to wealth tax, it may be hard to gain enough support for a petition offering one of the alternative solutions. What if we petition to abolish wealth tax first, then come up with an alternative after?

After paying so much in Wealth Tax yesterday, I developed convictions such that not only the 10 richest players but also all the inactive players should be taxed. If you agree, I invite you to stamp my petition with the utmost conviction

@Mushroom1 As long as you get your money out before the wealth tax time, it's actually easy to avoid it (says the guy who got taxed 80M after the double payouts from Permafrost 😂)

It's hard to get my money out in time every day since I don't check in every day haha. Wealth tax is forcing you to check in every day. But some players may not be able to / want to check in every day. Some players may place their bets in advance and only check in once every few days.
