Match Modifier Ideas
I’ve been thinking up ideas for new and fun match modifiers to propose and want to throw them out there to workshop and see what ideas everyone else has:
Match Modifier: Field Goals 🏈 - Shots over the cross bar are worth 3 points.
Match Modifier: Banana Sundae Night 🍌- Fans get half off banana sundaes when they bring their own bananas. Unfortunately facilities can’t handle all these peels, so they’re on the ice. Players trip and fall at a significantly higher rate.
Match Modifier: Gear Thief 🏒 - Somebody raided the locker rooms before the match. Teams can only cobble enough gear together to play 3 on 3. And substitutions are much slower from players having to change in and out of their equipment.
Match Modifier: Looney Beer Night 🍻- Beers are only one looney tonight, and the fans are rowdy. Periodically a fan will hop onto the ice and head right for the puck and then straight towards the closest net. A good hit should send them back to their seats.
Match Modifier: Pride 🏳️🌈 - We painted the neutral zone rainbow in honor of all the queer hockay fans and players. But players struggle with finding and handling puck, when it’s in there. Happy Pride!

These are great ideas. I especially love Banana Sundae Night and Gear Thief.
I like all of these! Personally a big fan of gear thief and Looney beer Night!
Extra Hard Ice🧊: The Jambono made the ice colder than normal. The Ice is harder as a result. Faster skating, faster puck movement, harder hits.
Street Rulez Night 👊: No penalties, but everything is settled with a fight. Whoever loses has to go to The Sixth for 2 minutes.
One that came to me,
Foggy 💨: The fog from the Sixth is extra dense. The Puck may miss minor (or not so minor) infractions in the haze.TBH, “Foggy” seems too close to “Fog” (which just reduces goalie stats)
