This Week in Hockay: May 10th
Week two. Twelve matchdays played. The standings are sorting themselves out. The Looneys are moving. The Ice is... Le Council will get to that.
Here is what changed this week.
Betting Board Updates
The betting board now surfaces the highest-odds bets on each matchday. If you are looking for the longest shots—the games where The Ice seems to have opinions that O.D.D.S. has priced accordingly—they are now easier to find. O.D.D.S. has noted the additional visibility. O.D.D.S. did not say how it felt about this.
Modifiers Are Now Visible
Player profiles now display active modifiers. The players listing page is filterable by modifier. This was, until now, information that required cross-referencing several sources. It no longer does.
Le Council notes that this development coincides with a week of unusual Ice activity. Le Council is not suggesting these are connected. Le Council is noting the coincidence. Le Council notes many coincidences. Most of them are nothing.
A Bonus Was Distributed
On Wednesday, Le Council distributed the first daily reward bonus of the season. Fans who logged in during that day received the bonus in their accounts.
There will be more. Le Council does not publish a schedule for these distributions. This is intentional. The best way to be present when they happen is to be present generally.
Join the Discord, follow the socials. Le Council announces these things when they happen. Not before. Or just shortly before
The News Has Categories
The news section has been reorganized. Matchday recaps live in one place. Announcements in another. This dispatch is its own category. Navigation is more legible. If you have been struggling to find specific posts in the archive, this should help.
Something Is Happening
On Tuesday, Le Council published an advisory. Unprompted.
Le Council does not typically speak unprompted. Le Council issued this advisory anyway, and spent a meaningful portion of it clarifying—repeatedly, across several paragraphs—that there is no cause for alarm.
The advisory introduces the U.I.P.I.—a classification framework for Ice phenomena. It has five levels. Levels IV and V are Glacified.
Current classification: Level I—Frisson.
Reports have been received from coastal cities, island settlements, high-altitude research stations, and at least one location whose coordinates Le Council is not at liberty to share. The phenomena are minor. Le Council has said so multiple times. Le Council would like you to feel reassured.
The Podcast Has a Home
Hockay Today now has a dedicated page on the site. It is in the footer. You can find it without knowing the Discord link first. Le Council considers this an improvement in discoverability. The hosts have not been informed that Le Council monitors their episode releases. This is the correct state of affairs.
That is week two. The game continues. Le Council is watching.
Stick around.
