The Hockay API serves the league's public record: seasons, teams, players, games, standings, the bracket, and the reference tables behind them. Ask Claude who leads the league in fights, or build the scoreboard Le Council never commissioned.

It is read-only. Nothing you do through it changes Hockay.

## Two ways in

- **REST**, at `https://hockay.com/api/v1`, with a key. For your own scripts, sites, and bots. Start with the [quickstart](/docs/quickstart).
- **MCP**, at `https://hockay.com/mcp`, for Claude, ChatGPT, and other assistants. They sign in with your Hockay account; there is nothing to copy. See [Claude and ChatGPT](/docs/mcp).

## Who can use it

Early access is a perk of [La Caisse](https://hockay.com/caisse). Sociétaires issue their keys and connect their assistants from [their account](https://hockay.com/account/developers). Le Council will open it to everyone eventually, and would like to see what the roll makes of it first.

## What it serves, and what it does not

It serves what the site shows anyone: the league, its games, and its people on the ice. It does not serve the Exchange, bets, odds, wallets, or anything about a fan.

## Nothing before it airs

Games are played before they are broadcast. The API keeps the broadcast's pace, so it never tells you a result before the site does. [How that works](/docs/broadcast).
